It doesn't do a very good job with English/Lithuanian translations, even for some pretty basic words and phrases. I was wondering why. Complexity of the language? Maybe they haven't worked on Lithuanian as much as they have on more common languages?

Just curious...Has anyone run into this for other languages?

Yes AFAIK, GT is still pretty hit or miss with a lot of languages. That said, with major languages like Spanish, or languages for which there's a lot of training data, like Japanese, it is so, so much better than it used to be. Sometimes it still comes up with some humdingers, but for the most part it's gotten to be pretty reliable.

I would guess that's the case. Also, how many webpages are there in Lithuanian, how many Lithuanian speaking internet users are there? That's probably a big part of it.
