Doh! https://msteinert.com/blog/do-...idity-control-system It was pointed out that this article is not accurate in its comments re warranties and DCs on new pianos, so it may be overstating the pinblock concern... Also, people who have dampp chasers, and techs who recommend them, tend to say that the tuning stability is excellent. If the pinblocks were going on all these pianos, that wouldn't be the case, so again, the article may overstate... But I still thought it was helpful. Now if I can just get my install scheduled ... 9waiting for the guy to tell me...)

I'll share a horror story.... New 7' Steinway in a church. Dampp-Chaser installed and working properly. Properties guy decides to use dishwasher descaler to control minerals rather than the (expensive) recommended fluid. A few months later I came to tune and found all of the strings rusted! It was a mystery until the guy filled in the blanks. Had to get sent out to restring and get the rust off the unfinished parts of the plate. OOOOfff!
