Do you use a spurtle? How do you like it?

What do you use it for?

I use a spurtle for stir frying and sautéing. I use it for making risotto, too.

I bought my spurtle from a gentleman in Seattle at the Pike Street Market.

Really, a spurtle is a Scots kitchen tool, especially good for making parritch.

PS: I don’t think your linked picture is a spurtle.

Just looked at your link. Those look nice! I may have to indulge.

My spurtle is a right handed spurtle. I got spurtles for my kids, one lefty and one righty. Ours are maple.

I saw the word "spurtle" on my package of Bob's Red Mill Steel Cut Oats but had no clue what it is.

Now I know!

Bob was very proud that he won the Golden Spurtle award! (We toured the mill a couple years ago. It’s local here. He’s a good guy.)
