Hi Elena!

Thanks for asking! It went well except for the Bach. Frowner Half way through the first part I had a loss of memory. I recovered but then half way through the second part it happened again. I sat there with hands hovering for what seemed an eternity. I stood up and apologized to the audience explaining that it was a very new piece for me and that I apparently didn't have it as secure as I thought I did. With head bowed, I also apologized to Bach which brought a light hearted moment and the audience chuckled a bit which is exactly the effect I desired. Played the Mozart as well as I ever have and finished off with the very secure Chopin. All in all it was good.

Katie did a fantastic job as usual. No lapses, a couple of almost undetectable mistakes but kept right on going. Nobody but me noticed as the audience just sat there most in awe of her abilities at such an age. Her Chopin is sublime as is her Debussy.

A great experience overall for me. I have to figure out a way to stop my right foot from shaking so much! It started in the third movement of the Mozart Sonata but I managed to calm it down quickly. This has happened to me more than once during recitals but it keeps getting less and less with each public performance.

Welcome, Rami!

I wish I were near Alexandria or Utica in June-- your programs look nice. I really like the Mendelssohn Rondo Capriccioso.

Welcome to the forum.

Hi Mark, just read your post today! You did the exact thing you should have, make a joke. People always empathize and it turns a bad situation into a good one. They will probably remember your performance even more because you knew how to laugh at yourself!

So glad to hear the rest went well and that Katie just flew on by! Ah, the joys of being a child again.

Welcome Rami! What a varied program you are presenting! It is lovely! I see you also compose, do you have any works for 1 piano 4 hands or 2 pianos? We would be interested in acquiring any.

Good luck on your concerts! And do stop by the other "rooms" here and post once in a while, would love to read what you have to say.

Thank you Elena.
Went to your page, all very impressive.
No 2 pianos works, but 3 duets for 4 hands, which are quite fun:
Plain Ol' Rag, Shmateh-Rag, and Vocalise (on Bach prelude #1). All published by me.
I'll look in the other rooms to see if there's a subject that catches my eye...
Hey, wishing you success with your Carnegie/Weill Recital Hall concert in June.
Best wishes,
Rami

Well, in as much as it is pun, yes. My non-Jewish friends call it Rag-Rag...
