So what's the alternative? Random boosters at various times through out the year?

New technologies might provide more potent or broader immunity — but will have to fight for market share.

They measured the immune response in blood samples of 96 generally healthy OHSU employees

I wonder if part of the point of this very early study is that these were OHSU employees, so they could pinpoint exactly when they were vaxxed and when they contracted COVID, because they would have to report it immediately as health care workers. In other words, they would have very precise data.

Natural immunity.

Immunity acquired from a Covid infection is as protective as vaccination against severe illness and death, study finds

The immunity generated from an infection was found to be “at least as high, if not higher” than that provided by two doses of an mRNA vaccine.

That information is helpful to me.

Since I was diagnosed with COVID during my hospitalization in December, I've been considering when I might be best advised to get my second booster. The doctor I discussed this with in the hospital suggested waiting at least a couple of months and based on this information I may wait even a little longer.
