May be that’s how a new regional deity is created?

Remember how, for a month after Steve Jobs died, many people (presumably Apple fans) placed flowers in front of Apple Stores? This gets even more personal.

There is a mass of people in China who keep adding comments to the last WeiBo (a social medium) post made by the late Dr. Li Wenliang, the whistleblower who blew the whistle about what later became COVID-19. “In the comments section, they grieve and seek solace. ... People write down their thoughts and leave. They don’t argue or make accusations. When they do respond to each other, they leave digital hugs and encouragement. ... ” 870k+ comments and counting.
