If the Arabs had accepted the UN partition in 1948, giving them their own country within Palestine, and refrained from attacking Israel, there would have been no Nakba.

Attack--without provocation--a community that has somehow managed to survive worldwide persecution--including the horrors of the Holocaust and pogroms--for 17 centuries and you may just get your ass handed to you.

Anyone who throws around bullsh!t like that Israel killed 700,000 Palestinians in 1948 (and btw, there were no "Palestinians" in 1948. There were Arabs) is either ignorant or intent on fomenting anti-semitism or both.

I also think that irresponsibly using terms like "slaughter," "murder" doesn't help.

But Nakba did not result in 700,000 Arabs/Palestinians being killed. That's an antisemitic trope and easily refuted by even the most cursory research.

But that kind of research is beyond many people these days.

We can also point out that although 700K Palestinians were displaced (not "slaughtered"), some forcibly and many fleeing from the fighting, 750K Jews were displaced from Arab nations. Who has done a better job of resettling refugees and incorporating them into society? Who has languished in "camps" supported by UNWRA dependency-charity, shunned by many of their Arab neighbors.

Maybe some people should go to Wikipedia and look up Mizrahi Jews so they can actually learn something about Israel's founding and its in-gathering of the bulk of the Arabic-speaking Jewish population from North Africa and the Middle East.

Ethnic clensing and it is continuing to this day.
