I hate TV and all the ads.

I like Amazon Prime Movies, free.

Keep saying I'll share, and then don't, so I'll just start in with a couple today to suggest. I'll warn you, I like docs and educational things as well as a good tale.

Hope you will share as well.

First one this weekend was on the start of AIDS. I had forgotten.

AND THE BAND PLAYED ON

2nd was

BACKSTABBING FOR BEGINNERS

global conspiracy on UN and Iraq.
Much better than it sounds
BEn Kingsley

3rd

A RIVER's LAST CHANCE

How we can destroy a vital river and bring it back. Amazingly the Salmon is the warning sign. Tree deforesting, etc right up to now growing of weed.
Fascinating. Watched two weeks ago and it is still haunting me.

Great idea, LL. Really appreciate any suggestions!

In addition to Prime I also watch movies on Hoopla, which I access for free through my library. I recently watched Itzhak and really enjoyed it.

Not sure if your library subscribes to Hoopla, but you might be able to get to it that way. Otherwise it may pop up on Amazon Prime or Netflix.

One of my faves in the past few years is on Prime, "The Big Sick." It's a comedy based on a true incident in comedian Kumail Nanjiani's life. (You'll most likely recognize him if you don't know his name.)

Charming, funny. I totally recommend it.

Also available and highly recommended: "Lady Bird," which was nominated for best picture and has an incredible cast.

If it's a movie it is not on A P but I tagged a couple of concerts!

Got another good one from last night

Good movie

Based on true novelist it seems.

And from the night before...

WONDER BOYS

Better than what I thought from the cover. And yes I like Michael Douglas. 2000

LL, do check whether your library has Hoopla. I think there's a Hoopla app on Roku, and there is definitely one for the iPad. They had the documentary RBG available and Amazon still doesn't have it for free. Lots of good stuff.

You're limited to a certain number of movies a month (I think our limit is eight or nine), but it's a great option. Assuming your library participates, you just use your library card number to set up an account and log in.

I don't see a hoopla on my roku.

I did recently find out that I have you tube on the roku to explore. Only watched 2 so far. I didn't really like how it was set up. Wait,wait,wait...!

I don’t have a Roku, but I think you can download apps to it. The roku App Store has a hoopla app.

https://channelstore.roku.com/details/196549/hoopla

I have no clue what to do from here. Maybe someone who has a roku can help.

Channels just appear when I turn it on...not sure where I would find an App Store.

Ya, I am behind the times...give me an old rotary phone, and I'll be fine!

In addition to movies, there's a couple of weekly shows I enjoy. Star Trek Discovery, and The Marvelous Mrs Maisel.

Worth a look IMO, especially when you've got an hour to kill, but not really 2 hours...
