And Schiit Audio just released their very first turntable for the geeky tinkerer, and it's a price segment killer. I think it will have a sound quality of turntables that cost $3k or more.

I plan on getting one soon.

Upon reflection, it's not that surprising. I'd assume the majority of music is digital/streaming, but audiophiles will want better sound and vinyl > digital for many people.

I'm not an audiophile to that level, so I'll take other people's words on that.

I think it is one of the most unexpected markets to happen in a long time, if not, ever. I am amazed at the number of Turntables being manufactured every year and the more amazed at the number of different companies manufacturing them.
