What happens if Bernie dies before the vote?
Just say he gets the nomination and then has a fatal heart attack in October.

God forbid and all...

But what would happen? Does it depend on the state rules?

Same issue for the GOP with their obese idiot-child. Of course, if he croaks while in office, Pence is elevated. But does Pence automatically rise to the top name on the ballot if he has only been nominated for the VP slot? Or would the high muckety mucks of the GOP have to convene to decide what to do?

I could imagine it coming down to ballot rules in individual states.

The answer is: it’s complicated.

It does ultimately come down to the vagaries of state law and whims of the electors.

Lots of opportunities for Trump to remain and refuse to leave.
