Yeah, and the problem with all of these "hard-hitting" ads is that the people who are in Trump's column would never come across them, or would snigger at the content if they did. And the undecideds probably won't need this in the end. Lot's of intellectual bandwidth and tons of campaign money will be devoted to moving statistically insignificant numbers of votes. Once you have the requisite minimums, money in politics is overrated.

My concern exactly.

How ARE these ads targeted, in fact? (For instance are they targeted, on Facebook to these true believers and people on the fence - the same way ads were ultra targeted by the GOP techies in the last campaign?)

This would seem an ideal ad to target because it starts with Reagan looking and sounding his best. (Too bad it states baldly at the start, Republicans Against Trump.)

(When it reaches people like us, it just enflames us more, makes us feel more desperate, worried, angry etc. Me, at least. Frowner )

Another concern - I wish the camera could linger just a bit longer on those telling images to give the audience a chance to recognize what they represent. (Mini pauses during Reagan's speech?)

You may be right about this, but just thinking about some of the republicans in my extended family, who may be fence-sitting, I think this will be meaningful to them...

I hope!

I think that would be a great example of why money is overrated in politics. Spend millions to fatten Fox's bottom line and persuade 3,000 voters. Then have Trump spend millions to fatten Fox's bottom line to win the bulk of that 3,000 back.
