Has Achieved Nirvana |
Going through my mom's dementia and associated decline was one of the toughest times of my life. The sleepless nights of worry were hard to get through. I didn't start a gratitude journal, but I did make it a point to try and stop my monkey mind several times a day to observe and to acknowledge something for which I was profoundly grateful. The habit has persisted. I'm going to post some of my grateful moments in this thread and hope that you will share yours. I'm so glad that it's spring. Warmer and longer days with Mother Nature erupting in a blaze of blooms always raises my spirits. The garden is eternal.

This is a great idea!
+1 In the last week or so, green has exploded around our house and it changes how the house looks on the inside too! It just looks wonderful. The view from my home-office window was mostly brown before, now it's all green, and that bright new-green color too! So cheery! Also, I'm grateful that when Mr. SK braved the grocery store, in addition to the important stuff, he brought home some chocolates that we will have with our afternoon coffee break today!

My Mom, who will be 91 in May. She is sharp and funny, much more liberal than when I was a kid. And we are closer than ever...She has said that as my sister and I became adults with families of our own, she thought of us more as friends..I have to agree. Our phone conversations usually involve lots of laughing. And we always sign off with "I love you"..just in case it is the last thing we get to say. For this I am grateful.
