Our daily grind is 8 O'clock French Roast beans ground and brewed each morning. Now that my wife and I are retired, there's often another pot brewed later in the day. Occasionally, we drink a Nicaraguan coffee from a co-op there. We get it at the fair trade shop where my wife volunteers, but it's a little pricy to be our daily drink. Years ago, when I worked in downtown Pittsburgh, I'd stop into a coffee roaster's shop near my office and buy a variety of coffees over time. I remember one from Sumatra as being particularly tasty. Nothing fancy here. We drink a half pot of Folgers Black Silk every day, made in a drip coffeemaker. But that may change. Sharon got me a stovetop Moka pot and a little can of Illy coffee and I'll be trying out espresso instead of coffee for a while.

Of all the store brands I've tried, Folgers Black Silk comes closest to my taste preference.

I developed acid reflux last year from the pain meds I was on after my knee replacement. I drink only cold brew. But sometimes I have to quit coffee for a while and go back to drinking herbal tea until the acid quiets down again. So it's not a cure all. L I'm surprised anyone with acid reflux has to drink coffee instead of tea. I find tea to be much less problematic.

That’s me. As you know, I used to be a huge tea snob, and drank it constantly. One night I awoke with chest pain and went into the hospital for observation. They found no heart issues, but asked me about what I’d been eating and drinking! So it turned out to be reflux and I noticed that when I quit tea, it didn’t recur. Somehow, dark roasted coffee doesn’t bother me. I’ll still have a cup of nice tea once every couple of weeks, but that’s all I can handle. I miss it dearly.
