Has anyone ever ordered one of their rugs? If so, what did you think of the look and quality? Our kitchen refacing is done now and we want to put a pop of color in the kitchen. The walls and tray ceiling will probably be done in a lighter blue faux grasscloth for some texture.

Thinking about this rug.

Haven't heard of them. Makes eminent good sense to have something washable in the kitchen.

Why the middle eastern style, if you're going for a washable manufactured rug? Why not something a bit more contemporary?

The rest of the rugs in the house are Tibetan. We looked at contemporary but haven’t seen anything we liked. But it could be. I like to mix styles up.

My personal preference is always natural fibers, so I wouldn't be ordering from Ruggable.

What about a nice cotton Kilim with a rug pad?

The colors are nice in the picture you showed above, they would look lovely in your kitchen.

Yeah, Tibetan rugs are a bit spendy for kitchen wear and tear.

What about Afghan? When the US was responsible for the place the Afghan hand-crafted rug industry experienced a rebirth of sorts. I think that supply has substantially dried up, but there is a ton of it in inventories. I bought one for my bathroom in Santa Fe, for instance. It's more expensive than a factory rug, I'm sure, but for the size in there it might be a decent option.

Here's the website for the place where we acquired our little bathroom rug. They say that most of their "traditional oriental" rugs are made in Afghanistan.

we got something similar for our front hall from wayfair. it takes a huge beating, and still looks like new after seven years of abuse from our dogs.

I like the Ruggable rug. I will look great there and washable is smart for kitchen.
I might be wise to wait until the walls are done before you order. That is the sort of advice that I give, not what I do.

We've bought a couple of Ruggables for our kitchen. We really like the look of them, but we haven't put them down yet. The backsplashes aren't in yet and the painting isn't finished, and the people we've had working in our house would mess them up, guaranteed.

As I'm sure we've said, we have really old wood floors throughout the main part of the house, except for the bathrooms and laundry room. The kitchen floors aren't perfect, because part of the kitchen is a closed-in former porch and part of the original kitchen has some wonky wood floors where the hearth used to be, but we do still want to protect them. (I kind of think that the wonkiness is part of the charm. Quirt disagrees, but this isn't a right/wrong issue. They are what they are unless we decide to rip them out and put down tile. Until then, we want them to stay as nice as possible.)

Anyway, Ruggables come in different levels of plushness and we got the most utilitarian level, because it's the kitchen. They're going to get water and crumbs and grease on them. Being able to throw them in the washer is going to be a major plus.

We got a William Morris pattern (Strawberry Thief) that looks really nice in the house. Morris might be horrified by the unnatural fibers, but we're here and he's not. Big Grin

Strawberry Thief was the other pattern I really liked!

Yeah. all our other rugs are wool, but for the kitchen washable matters.

There used to be a shop in my hometown, Lebanon, that carried a lot of Afghan rugs, including some really funky Afghan war rugs from the Soviet invasion with helicopters, etc on them.

We have two in the bedroom and one in the breakfast room, one in the nursery. They tolerate pets well and wash up well. No regrets.

I love your kitchen, Mik.

The cabinets look sleek and those wood floors are going to look great with the rug.
