As I walked through the aisle where the cream cheese stuffed marinated peppers are I thought "We talked about getting more of these. I guess he forgot to put them on the list."

He was equally puzzled when I came home with a tray of stuffed peppers.

Hilarity ensued.

Y'know, Costco will accept returns on most items for up to one year. I'd just stick the tray of peppers in the trunk of the car and return them the next time you happen to make a trip to Costco.
