first of all i hope you are okay.

I have some friends in midtown and that contihue to marvel at the ghost town aspect.

question about the other chat room.

my browser police say it's a suspicious top-level domain.

any idea what that means?

"Website blocked due to a suspicious top level domain (TLD)
Website blocked: nodebb.the-new-coffee-room.club

"Browser Guard blocked this website because it may contain scam activity.
We strongly recommend you do not continue."

Is that just referring to the general conviviality of the group? Wink

I think it’s a function of its newness. Klaus personally runs that, with mark and ax also having admin rights.

It's a new domain name, and it takes a while for a new domain name to make its way to various Internet databases that keeps track of which sites are safe/reputable and white ones are not. It's a bit like consumer credit rating agencies; if you are "new", you have little to no "credit history" and the consumer credit rating agencies will give you a thumbs-down. It takes a while for the "new person" to establish credit history and it takes a while for that history to get into the consumer credit rating agencies' databases such that you later get a thumbs-up from more and more of such agencies. Some web browsers and many corporate firewalls use third party databases to tell them whether a website is "safe," and it takes a new domain name some time to get into those databases.

There are actually some good discussions about the science and statistics over there. I’ve been grateful for those threads (though one of them caused me to have a major panic attack in the middle of the night midway through Steve’s illness. HairRaising ) but it’s good information. Hint: if you go, click on the little clock icon top left, it puts the threads with the newest posts at the top. (At least, that’s how I like to view them)
