Oddest sold-out item locally? GARLIC. Two big stores, not a clove to be found. Plenty of onions everywhere though.

There was a rumor going around that garlic would either cure or prevent one from getting the virus. There was a story on bbc or somewhere about a woman who was hospitalized after eating one and a half kilos of garlic. While it's not a cure, garlic could certainly help encourage others to stay at least six feet away from you.

Lots of garlic and onions. Last week, no coconut milk. This week, they had coconut milk. So I bought *six* cans. I make a yummy coconut milk lentil curry, and I make a chickpea stew with coconut milk. Probably should have bought more. Still no plastic wrap, foil, or ziploc bags to be found. | |||

Laundry detergent was very picked-over. Mrs pj asked for Arm & Hammer unscented. None. I managed to get a small (very small) jug of All unscented.

Sausages..of all brands. The refrigerated case was wiped out. All the usual brand pasta and marinara sauce is gone, just a few of the higher priced, better brands left.

I have been trying to find enough garlic to make Chicken With 40 Cloves of Garlic for a week. Just got them from Whole Foods today.
