I think I'd try to brighten the interior decor a bit with some better lighting.
We noticed the same thing. I had assumed it was mostly the difficulty of taking interior photos with bright windows, but you're probably right, all those brown or dark-colored furnishings and walls probably mean it's pretty dark.
