I mostly wear Polyester golf shirts year-round. I've found a brand I like, they don't wrinkle and they're nearly indestructible. They're uncomfortable in AZ heat though, and I am looking for a shirt to replace them. Cotton shirts are nice but I don't want to iron anything. I see cotton blends listed for various printed shirts but I don't know if they will still need ironing. Rayon, maybe, but I don't know how comfortable it is in the heat. Any suggestions?

Cotton t shirts. In any event nothing synthetic.

Long sleeve cotton oxford cloth shirts helped me survive the heat and humidity of southeast Missouri. Light colored tshirts would be the next best thing. Wore some synthetic hiking shorts last summer in Arizona. After a walk around the long block I would take them off because they absorbed the heat.

For the last several years, I've been wearing dress shirts from Costco. All cotton. Usually the long-sleeve ones, but I have a few short-sleeve as well. If I put them in the dryer at all, it's just for a couple minutes. Usually, I just take them out of the washer and put them on hangers to dry. They are acceptably wrinkle-free.

Vintage Hawaiian shirts are sometimes rayon. Is it comfortable in hot weather?

I would avoid anything synthetic. 100% cotton FTW. What do you wear when you are out playing in the desert?

Cotton tee shirts, but what I am looking for here is a shirt with a collar for going out to dinner and such. I've ordered what Van Huesen calls a "wrinkle-free" cotton blend shirt from Amazon. It comes in a number of colors/patterns, and if it performs as well as the reviews indicate I'll probably buy several of them.

One of my favorite hot weather shirts was a short-sleeve Columbia GRT (omni-dry) white collar shirt with mesh panels inside. Another Columbia shirt without the mesh was not as good during super-hot golf outings... Anyway, I found this: https://www.theadventurejunkie...rts-for-hot-weather/ Good luck!

I have “standardized” on Columbia PFG shirts with mesh-lined vented backs. Every now and then you find them on discount on Columbia’s own website or on Amazon. Good luck with finding what works for you.

100% cotton is the way to go. Most look perfectly good if popped into the dryer for 5 minutes then hung up while damp to dry. I also wear a white cotton singlet under my shirt. That allows me to tuck in the singlet, but leave the shirt untucked. For me, this combo works very well in hot weather. YMMV

I have a couple rayon sundresses that I’ve been wearing for 20 years. They’re comfortable, and not wrinkly. Merino wool is being touted as cool in summer, warm in winter. And not stinky, needs fewer launderings. I haven’t tried it as a summer offering.

Interesting that they are all synthetics. I might have to try one.

Get some Reyn Spooner shirts. Expensive but built for Hawaii which is hot but or humid. Plus they look amazing.

Try seersucker. It's usually a cotton fabric with a crinkly texture to make it cooler for summer wear. I have one seersucker shirt. Here's the definition of seersucker: Seersucker or railroad stripe is a thin, puckered, all-cotton fabric, commonly striped or chequered, used to make clothing for spring and summer wear. ... Seersucker is woven in such a way that some threads bunch together, giving the fabric a wrinkled appearance in places.

I'd vouch for the Columbia vented-back shirts. My son who lives in Georgia has bought me a few and they are noticeably cooler. They are not totally wrinkle-free, but dried on a cool-down cycle and hung up when finished are good enough for me. I'd recommend buying one or two and giving them a try. Big Al
