As Valentine's Day is coming up, tell us about the most romantic gesture your Valentine offered to you.

It could be a gift, a complement, a surprise vacation, or just offering to do the laundry.

Perhaps these stories will offer up ideas for those who are blocked for the upcoming holiday!

Winner will be chosen by which ever one "sparks joy". Big Grin

Does it have to be something for Valentine’s Day? Or just something the Beloved offered up, at any time?

We don’t actually do much for Valentine’s Day; Mr. AM doesn’t like “manufactured holidays.” But he’s a pretty good gift giver.

And Adagio, no limits to the Hallmark holiday..Things done outside such a reminder are more romantic in my eyes. Yes

I have two memorable gifts from Mr. AM.

First, a birthday gift for my 40th birthday. I was taking piano lessons, and he was taking guitar lessons. We both read Piano Lessons by Noah Adams, which was about being an adult music student.

We rented a beach house for my 40th, and invited friends to join us. On the morning of my birthday, Mr. AM surprised me with a scavenger hunt. I really just wanted to hang out with mimosas, but he insisted I go poking around the house, picking up new items as I solved each clue. A toy airplane. A book of Chopin preludes that I didn’t have enough skill to play. A Ben and Jerry’s T-shirt. OMG. Vermont. Piano. Flight. He was sending me to Sonata piano camp, and it was three weeks away. (Noah Adams featured Sonata camp in the October chapter of his book.) Fabulous gift, and a gift that kept on giving because I went for several more years!

Other favorite gift, for our 20th anniversary. I came downstairs and was met by a cardboard standup of Mr. AM that was wearing a beret, and holding a ticket envelope. A “learn conversational French” CD was playing on the stereo. Paris in the spring!

Mr. AM is great with the surprise gift. I’m not so good at it. I have other redeeming qualities, I hope.

Well, I guess we are not a terribly romantic bunch, but Mr. AM sure is!!!

Congrats, AdagioM, I knew you went to Sonata camp but never knew how you came to go in the first place! Extra special!

You know the drill. Smiler And Happy Valentines Day!
