Carvana gave me more than I ever dreamed it was worth — how?

For grins I put our 2003 Toyota Sienna minivan in for a quote. It's low mileage (110K) and in really good mechanical and cosmetic condition. Our mechanic says that right now we could sell it for $4K.

The Carvana offer was $295.

I tried CarMax, too. They don't give a binding online offer; they'll only do that after they see the car. They do provide a range, which for our car was $800 to $2000.
