Like most of us, his decision has layers of complexity that don't work well on social media, which plays by simple gotcha rules. He should have known that, however, and not traveled at all. No one really cares about his other (worse) alternatives and "but for" counterfactuals. All we see is "he traveled," and "he told us not to travel." Case closed. Bad political choice.
