Paying it forward
As some of your remember, my marriage blew apart, and I found myself for a time with no where to live...My Lovely friends took me in for 4 months while I settled and had the mental wherewith all to move forward..

I just got off the phone with a common friend of the couple who helped me..She is in a similar situation and panicking.. I talked her down and offered my upper floor rooms for her to live in while she sorted her life out..She burst into tears..(and so did I)...

We women of a certain age with no supports need to prop each other up...

I am paying it forward ...I am so grateful for the gift of a place to lay my head..I want to do the same for someone else.

She is coming on Tuesday to stay for a night or two to see if this could work for her.

I hope she decides to come and stay...We will both benefit. Smiler

Thanks, but it benefits me as well. I have been living here alone for more than a year. The job sucks the life out of me and I come home to an empty house.

Having someone here at home with a great sense of humor, will be a benefit to me as well.

And I see now how my friends had told me they felt when I lived with them. Another person in the house broke routines, gave us more to talk about every day..and just was more fun!

You are a good soul.

I'm always surprised this doesn't happen more often. With 50% of all marriages ending in divorce, there must be millions of people at any given time who know someone who needs a safe place to park and has a spare room.

Good luck with your new roomie. I hope it's mutually-beneficial.
