Douglas Adams was wrong. The meaning of life isn't 42. It's 8.

How do I know?

L (12) + I (9) + F (6) + E (5) = 32

32 / 4 = 8

There you have it, the meaning of life.

Shamelessly stolen from my Twitter friend, @JoshuaSGoodman, who truly loves Douglas Adams.

That's just the simple meaning of life.
The weighted meaning of life can still be different.

Yes, there really isn’t much harm we can do to anything outside of the Earth’s atmosphere. Well, until the Space Force takes off, that is.

Impressive foresight! In a pinch, your towel can work as a face mask.

Indeed, that's a good way of putting it! For the non-digital crowd.

I never read the books. I have the original BBC series on vinyl.

I have heard some of the later-released CD version and they're not the same and, I thought, not quite as good.

Mrs pj read the books, but never heard the radio shows. There are several lines that she and I remember differently... either because of the accents or maybe they were just different. She says the sign on the door (to the room in the basement of the planning office where the file cabinet contained the plans for the bypass) said "Beware the Leopard". I always thought it was "Beware the Leper". I guess "leopard" makes more sense.
