Legrand was one of the musicians who got me into jazz, and probably one who led me to start playing the piano, though I hadn't actually thought of that until just now.

He was an outstanding musician.

The umbrellas of Cherbourg

I am in love with his music.

First song of his I learned was 'I will wait for you', no lyrics, which was played as background music at Jordan marsh when I was a clerk in HS/college.

What melodies he created...

Also...

“The Summer of ’42”, “What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life?”, “Papa, Can You Hear Me?” and “The Summer Knows”.

Windmills of your mind, personally, not in my favs, although used to teach it back when it was a hit. Recent views on Y T have changed my mind.

Yes, I did watch Yentl last night. From Amazon Prime.

Not only Michel's beautiful score, but it didn't hurt to have Barbra S singing.

Tears.

Sadly Umbrella's is not on Prime free but $3.99.
