I do not want to think about how long ago this was but do want to remember what wonderful time that weekend was..
A highlight in my life.
One memory was in the bar (where we were to meet) with windows onto the street..I think it was Chas who exclaimed.."Look! It is Plays!" as we saw her walking by.. Someone ran out to catch her if I remember right.
I met Amanda in the elevator!!
No matter my bad memory of details, what I do remember is a wonderful weekend with friends I had never met before.
And I treasure the experience of meeting Apple in person.

While I absolutely love this video, it would have been nice to have a little of Mary's playing in it.
Kathy could fill in more,but the significance of this performance was that it was preceded by an online "fight"..Apple and Kathy were at odds..unbeknownst to us that it was a set up and they had been practicing this duet for our big day..It was wonderful!!

If I remember correctly, they actually locked horns so much at the coffee room that there was some trepidation about having the two of them in the same actual room. They faked everyone out.
It was to my everlasting regret that I couldn't be there. Had I dropped everything at that critical moment in time and flown to NYC, I would have missed my deadline at my publisher and Grand Obsession wouldn't have been published.
Luckily I've gotten to enjoy so many other such gatherings, including the very first one ever, at Bernard's, when he was still in Brooklyn.
