I guess all hope isn't lost for Florida's environment.

The first time I met Chas, we saw some pretty impressive manatees at Wakulla Springs.

We've put a lot of pressure on their habitat and our speedboats flat-out kill them. I hope they're still around for future generations.

My late grandmother loved them.

They're beautiful and gentle.

What's not to love.

I sure hope they survive.

What a loss that would be.
