That's why Mary Anna and I were in Portland. We're visiting Becca (she's 21, I think I can start using their names), because she had a concert Friday night and another one today. Mary Anna has to leave today, because she has to teach tomorrow, but I'm staying for tonight's concert, too.

Yeah. And the interesting thing is this: her high school chorus teacher made her a soprano in the choir senior year, and her college choir professor uses her as a tenor sometimes.

Thanks, but there’s lots of people with talent. She’s a terrific songwriter, and if she didn’t have debilitating anxiety about performing her own material, maybe. But she just won’t do it. And you aren’t going to make it as a singer covering other people’s material unless you’re as good as Adele or Beyonce.
