For starters, I agree with her contention that she was shouted down because she is a Jew.

This is the kind of woke leftism that had me voting GOP in the 1990s. And if it becomes a litmus test of being progressive, it'll have me leaving the Democrats again, for write ins or other forms of protest voting.

This is why I think a Jew in Jeremy Corbyn's labor party must really enjoy cognitive dissonance and must secretly think that self-flagellation is pleasurable. If I were a Jew in the UK I would think of labourites the way many of us here in the US think of Trumpists. I would be a Lib Dem. At least they have that alternative over there. The choice between leftist anti-semitism and illiberalism or Trumpist racist populism is no choice at all.

But it's not new. This is the face of much of the modern left, and has been for years now. It's the old Zionism = Racism, warmed over and spiced with a side helping of BDS.

Which is weird when you consider that much of the leadership of both the old and the new left were ethnic jews.

This seems to be how students act today.

They seem to want to shout down those they deem to have committed a "transgression," they seem to want those they deem to have committed a "transgression" to be banned from their sight, and they seem to want those they deem to have committed a "transgression" to be punished.
