Has Achieved Nirvana |
The gardener in me is waking up from winter slumber. We're going to be close to a record high today, somewhere around 56 degrees. Snowdrops are up as of last week and are doing their "signs of spring" thing. A couple of days ago I brought out some plants that I was overwintering in my garage, a couple of gooseberry bushes and a jostaberry. I think I'm going to put them in the ground somewhere, as the pots are quite large and I'm getting tired of hauling them in and out of storage. Will be digging out three arborvitaes next to our dining room window. They're in a side yard and they don't get quite enough sun to look great. My neighbor needs some screening, so I think I'll ball and burlap them and have her landscapers plant them in her yard. I also have a red twig dogwood shrub that is an aggressive grower that requires pruning multiple times each summer. Am trying to reduce the maintenance in my yard, so I think that one will be up for adoption, too. Anybody else getting the garden bug yet? Got plans for changes in your landscape?
