‘Tia Spring, which means it’s time to clean and replace filters. If your place is anything like mine there are a lot of them.

Fridge - water filter. They’re not cheap but changing it makes the red light go out in the control panel.

Furnace/AC - Get a spare one too - once we get a heat wave you won’t be able to find one anywhere if it’s an oddball. Newer units use crazy thick ones. Make sure the airflow arrow points the same way it did on the old one.

Don’t forget the one on the window unit if you have one.

Washer - front loaders have filters you have to clean.

Dishwasher - most newer models have filters. These can also be cleaned, and if you haven’t cleaned yours in a while you may be surprised at what’s growing in it.

Dryer - of course you clean the lint screen after every load, but now would be a good time to work the crevice tool on your vacuum down in to the lint screen cavity and pick up the loose stuff. If drying cycles are taking longer than usual, pull it away from the wall, disconnect the hose and vacuum up inside it. Check the hose too, and you may as well clean the floor while you have it pulled out.

Range hood - on most hoods these are removable. The best way to clean them is to run them through the dishwasher.

Vacuum cleaners. All bagless models have filters that have to be cleaned, and some bagged models too. Dyson and Sharks have at least 2. They’re generally washable. Don’t forget the shop vac.

Cars and trucks. Newer cars and trucks probably have a cabin air filter up behind the glove box. When they get clogged the A/C doesn’t work very well. They’re commonly a PITA to get to - see YouTube. Replacements are available on Amazon.

Related....clean out the dust and fuzzies that collect on refrigerator coils.

Years ago we had a problem where the frig wasn't cooling properly, and cleaning out the carp made it right as rain. Our coils are underneath, and we have a long brush that we use to sweep out the debris and dog hair. Something like this:

Which reminds me. If you have a newer gas water heater it’s time to brush/vacuum the screen on the underside.

I use a can of compressed air. That way the dust is blown to a new location to be dusted later.
