Dish soap substitute?

ShiroKuroDish soap substitute?
Mr. SK is bound and determined to get to the store!! He said we're almost out of dish soap and he forgot about it when we made what was supposed our "last" shopping trip
So, is there anything that could safely substitute for dish soap that we might have in our house? If not, he's gonna get his wish and go "hunting and gathering" :P

wtgOrder it online for pickup locally at Target or something, or have it sent to your house from Amazon?

BeeLadyDo you have bar soap? You can shave it with a potato peeler into water to melt it..
Soap is soap.

ShiroKuroWTG, no Target in this town, though it might be worth taking a little drive if it means we don't have to do into the store, I'll check their site. The neighborhood Walmart nearby and the other super Walmart both come up as having no pick up time slots available. I've actually been checking since Saturday.

Beelady, the only bar soap we have is the soap I use, it's kinda expensive... We do have liquid hand soap (a big bottle that we use to refill our regular ones).
I'll see what I can scare up from Amazon or possibly Target.
Ugh.

wtgNot sure if bar soap will work. some have moisturizers that might leave a film.
Here are a bunch of recipes, but the problem is that the ingredients aren't things that you're likely to have in your house.

wtgI'm seeing stuff on Amazon. Might not be your usual stuff, but any port in a storm, no?
edit: Looks like they may be a little backordered.

Mr. SK might get his way (i.e., I let him go to the store).
Ugh.

BeeLadyShampoo?
I have used it for years of traveling to wash my clothes in a hotel.
If a soap leaves a film on dishes, you can use a vinegar rinse to get rid of that.

ShiroKuroShampoo might work. But then we'll run out of shampoo...
I am trying to see if I can get a spot in the grocery pick up.
In the meantime I'm going to see if I can convince Mr. SK to at least wait till Thursday. My reasoning is that, well, one, maybe we'll get a spot in the order pick. And two, any students coming back here from spring break will be doing most of their shopping today and tomorrow, I'm thinking. So there should be less grocery traffic Wednesday on. Maybe??

ShiroKuroWait!! We have liquid dishwasher dish soap!
(Our dishwater sort of leaks, and we never used it at the rental, so we haven't dealt with getting the dishwasher fixed).
So, couldn't we use dishwasher soap? Should it be thinned with water?

wtgWould definitely wear gloves if you don’t normally. Not sure how products formulated for a machine might be different from a regular dish washing liquid

ShiroKuroOk, according to the Google, it looks like dishwasher soap is harsher and more heavy duty, using rubber gloves is advised, and maybe diluting it with water?
Does anyone have any additional advice?

wtg1) use paper plates and cups and plastic utensils
2) order delivery
