Joey DeFrancesco, driving force on the Hammond organ, dies at 51

I'm very sorry to hear he's gone. I saw him live a few times and have several of his recordings. Coincidentally, he was announced as scheduled to appear at a Manchester Craftsmen's Guild concert here in Pittsburgh in November almost simultaneously with his death.

I grew up to the sounds of my father's Hammond organ and have one in my own home but no current artist could play it better than Joey D. RIP. I hope you're playing with the greats in heaven.
