Science like this can only be advanced with the help of brave volunteers like myself. I will be providing real life data on the impacts of megadosing ice cream.

My lipidologist is in favor of ice cream, compared to cakes and candy. She'd prefer none of it, of course, but she'd rather I eat ice cream than other worse things.

Is lipidologist a real thing?

Well! Then two of my favorite indulgences even mixed together are now good for me? An Affogatto or Espresso shot over vanilla (bean) ice cream.

Not for me. Perhaps because I'm running version 112.0.5615.121 of Chrome and the info you had previously linked said that version 75 was needed. Any further advice? Big Al

I tried Chrome and Firefox, and I can't access the article from either of those via Reader View, even when I clear out cookies. I guess I should amend my statement to
Brave is my browser of choice and I highly recommend it. As far as I know, it's Chrome-based but it has lots of built-in privacy features so you're not so much at Google's mercy. It's also wicked fast. I used to use Firefox but it started crashing all the time. I happened to read about Brave a few years ago and switched. I love it. I posted about back then. The PC World review is three years old, but they thought it was pretty slick even back then. http://well-temperedforum.grou...423990497#8423990497 I looked at the website for what I think is your library, but without a library card and login for that library, there's a lot I can't see. My library seems to offer access to the current issue of The Atlantic through something called Flipster. The article that Chas posted is in the May issue, which technically isn't out yet. All I see is the April issue. Depending upon how determined you are... you could check out these tips.

Liquidologist, you say? I need one. Haven’t had a decent martini since I got here. Now I order cold gin in a martini glass.

you can sign up for a free one-month trial. they will actually notify you when the month is about to be up so you can cancel if you don't want to pay for the subscription. coincidentally i signed up for a free trial yesterday (i've had a subscription for years but we are paring down now). it's an interesting and fun article. worth signing up for the trial.

i personally believe cream is good for you. but sugar is not. what they found is that dairy appears to prevent type 2 diabetes. yogurt they are promoting in this way. but ice cream was found to be even more protective than yogurt.

Sorry to keep telling everyone what one doctor says, but my lipidologist actually prefers higher fat content dairy. She's OK with yogurt but would much prefer that I go with plain, unflavored. Her advice can be pretty radical. I do my best but I don't always live up to her standards. That said, my cholesterol numbers have been good since I've started seeing her ... maybe principally due to an aggressive medication regimen. And I eat a LOT of ice cream, as Mary Anna can attest.
