And none too soon, either.

I don't mind touchscreens for programming functions and similar activities that can be performed while stopped, but I hate cars that require looking at a touch screen to accomplish simple functions like changing the heating or cooling settings or changing the audio station or volume. Knobs or buttons on the steering wheel are the right solution.

Thought I was not the only one. Pulled over twice in the new vehicle to find a better radio station.
Now I use the button on the steering wheel to cycle through Sirius channels 71 to 76. Anything else
is best left to when I stop.
At least the cruise control if operated by buttons on the wheel and the wipers are operated with a lever attached to the wheel.

Knobs and buttons are nice because, if well designed, you can reach for the correct knob just by feel (size, texture). You can keep your eyes on the road.

Yes. Although you may be envisioning it at the same time, and that may take your attention away from the road anyway.
