ShiroKuroThank you everyone. I don’t know if she’s any better, but I believe that she is my worse! We had a short text message exchange, that was really nice.

ShiroKuroMy cousin let me know that my aunt seems to be getting a little bit better, she's still using the bipap machine, but said she was needing less oxygen than before. And yesterday she was able to sit up and eat. We are hoping this will continue!
My cousin told me that being in isolation is the hardest part, so I have been sending my aunt photos of things and she texts me back to chat a bit.

pianojugglerGood to hear. I hope she pulls through.

piquéso sorry your beloved aunt is sick! best wishes for her swift recovery. isn't it great that despite the quarantines we can communicate with each other? they didn't have that in 1918!

Yes, om my goodness!!
I have been texting with my aunt every day. I send her a photo of something, tell her a little story, she writes me back.
I just sent an email to my cousin to check in on her.
Tears are never far away, but I am hopeful!

ShiroKuroToday she mentioned (and I guess I should have known this) that she's in a "little zipper room." IOW, completed sealed off etc. She's been trying to get up and walk from one wall to the other (which is probably only a little more than the length of the hospital bed). And she's taking a few more steps today than the day before.
She is such a fighter.

CHASGreat that she is a fighter. IMO that lowers the risk of losing her.

QuirtEvansI've got my fingers crossed, but it sounds like she's making positive progress.
And yes, when you're in isolation like that, the ability to stay in touch with people through electronic devices is a blessing.
