Proposing while Black
Apparently, if there is a "credible" report, you get repeatedly harassed and accused of shoplifting... along with your betrothed and several of your friends.

At least someone with a few more brain cells followed up.

Go ahead. It has a (relatively) happy ending.

Dear god. Did no-one there have any common sense at all? Clearly they had no concept of courtesy.

My best guess is that the manager was harassing the security people to keep going back. I'm glad the manager got fired.

In what world do you go back to the same people three times about a T-SHIRT??? It's a t-shirt. Even if you thought you were right the first time ... EVEN IF YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE RIGHT THE SECOND TIME ... let it go, for Chrissakes. It's not a gold bar.

This whole thing just makes me so sad (and angry), that the couple had what should be such a special moment, marred in this way. Frowner

Angry Orchard says they want to make it up to the couple. So, in your opinion, what would be a suitable gesture in apology.

$30 mil.

Seriously. This is New York, not some backwater. What’s it going to take to keep this stuff from happening?

I’m thinking the solution involves money.

An overzealous manager went off the deep end. The company responded appropriately and immediately by firing them.

And you think they should pay $30 million?

Let’s remember ... there was no assault. There was no physical altercation. There was inappropriate harassment by security, over what they claimed was a stolen t-shirt. And then immediate corrective action and an apology.

Sheesh. No wonder Republicans think we are crazy.

Perspective. You don’t haz it.
