Martha and I have a regular Date Night every Wednesday. It usually involves drinks and dinner at a local seafood restaurant. This doesn’t stop us from other spontaneous nights out, such as they may be, be the regularity of it is nice. We look forward to it and may bring along an adult kid or four who happen to be visiting.
Any other couples do anything similar.

We used to do date nights when the kids were small, but once they were able to fend for themselves at night the regularly scheduled portion went by the wayside. A big reason for this was that we no longer needed to schedule a babysitter.
Now we're pretty spontaneous, but we do find that going out to a "nice" restaurant once every month or six weeks is very pleasant. Otherwise we will often go to our regular neighborhood casual joint(s).

We go to our neighbourhood casual joint once a week. We try to do a nice dinner out every four weeks or so, but we go more often in the spring/summer and less often in the fall/winter.

Every night we head down to the barn together and do chores. Mr Pique picks up the manure and stuffs hay nets. I groom, pick/trim hooves, make beds out of shavings, clean the stock tank, blanket, and mix up their supplements/meds and feed.
Then we go back in the house, light a fire in the fireplace, and read our respective books before it.
We've been on this little farm for over six years now. Working together to maintain and improve it has done more for our sense of partnership than any date we've ever had.

Recently we are both home a lot...my wife is retired and I am in a momentary lull with music work. Usually I'm cooking, but for an alternative, she likes to order in, which is usually OK with me, but I also like to go out to eat. I feel it gets us out of our own heads and dealing with other people, which is a good thing. And sometimes if I'm out shopping or whatever, I'll stop someplace for lunch. I recently discovered a terrific Chinese place this way.
And, heck, Manhattan is a free boat ride just across the water. Makes sense to explore there!
