the legislature meets for three months once every two years.

If it's the same time every two years, then it's at exactly the same time during the Presidential cycle, every second legislative session. (And, actually, it doesn't matter if it's exactly the same time; you really can't drop off the campaign trail for three months.) My point stands.

Campaigns didn't used to start this early. And I don't believe they should. In any event that is indeed the perpetual reality of the governor of Montana. So, maybe next time. He's young. Local talk is that he's angling for a cabinet position anyway.

He's Not Taking it Lying Down The DNC is holding 2 nights of debates twice, right? Each night will have 10 candidates, right? That leaves only 3 to miss out, right? I think that's ridiculous. Have 11 debaters the first night and 12 the second night. Why create unnecessary problems?

Bernard, the link says it's "members only" content. Do you have a headline from the article to share? I wonder if I might access it from Google News by searching for the headline; searches from Google sometimes bypass paywalls.

Because, then you might get 29. And, if you let 29 in, you might get 37. There comes a point where the 23rd candidate really has no shot at all, and therefore doesn't deserve to take time away from candidates among whom there's a more likely choice.

I'm still very disappointed in him. He should have been able to figure this out.

I guess I'm a bit confused. The rules were applied fairly. I feel like a lot of this feels like entitlement. "I wanted this, I didn't get it, it's not fair...." We all have opportunities that we have missed out on because we didn't understand the rules/conditions, we were too busy, we couldn't take the time when there was no flexibility on dates, etc. Isn't this just another flavor of the whining we have been hearing ad nauseum from the Bernie bros for the last 2 years? Let's see how Bullock's ad campaign works. That's about the only sensible way to approach it, I guess. Because it's really not an issue of fairness.

It could be an issue of fairness, if the rules weren’t fairly devised and applied. I don’t think it is, though. “Unfair” is, as you say, code for “the rules aren’t letting me do what I want to do.” It’s a five year-old’s logic.

Steve Bullock appeared on the debate stage last night. So what do you Bullock fans make of his appearance?
