What?

Well, he made a huge mistake to enter so late.

And, tbh, the only reason I would even have known who he was is from pique's threads here and those awful "help me get to the debate" fundraisers on FB.

Shame, really. He was someone I might have voted for.

You may still be able to help him by sending in a donation.

I think he has the donations, he needs the poll numbers.

Keep in mind, this is just the first debate. I mean, it’s a big deal, but it isn’t necessarily terminal.

I hope to god this isn’t the DNC trying to keep the moderate lane wide open for Uncle Joe.

He had no choice. Our legislature meets for 3 months once every two years. It's a Republican majority. If he got into the race any sooner, then ten percent of Montanans wouldn't have gotten on Medicaid. He'd have alienated his base.

Hmmm, he could have done both.

He was going to Iowa and NH, but he shouldn't have waited to announce.

Waiting to enter the race didn't work for Guiliani, and I cant think of anyone who has been successful by sitting on the sidelines.

It makes me question his political acumen. It's not like the polling requirements were a secret. He knew he was polling at zero percent but did nothing.

Bullock is out.
Senator Bennett of Colorado is in.
Put Bennett next to Al Gore to make Gore appear to be the hottest thing since Mount Helen erupted.

Don’t say bad things about Bennett. A friend’s daughter is on his staff.

If that is correct, then no sitting Montana governor could ever run for President (unless the schedule changes somehow).

I suppose it's possible that a Montana governor could be such a national figure that their candidacy didn't depend on early entry, but it seems unlikely.
