I agree. When I went away to college, we had a strict phone call routine: every Sunday night, five minutes tops, because long distance was so expensive. Being able to text and zoom with my kids is a fantastic option. I am like the article in that I hear from my daughter more than my son. But it's great to know that I can send them a link to a stupid dog YouTube or a dumb joke or even just a "hi, how are you guys doing?" My son is far more likely to propose setting up an actual chat, less likely to do the random texts. I absolutely get or send a text to my daughter at least once a day, on average. | |||
