Veggie soup here. Has onions, carrots, garlic, turnips, Brussels sprouts, corn and lentils in homemade chicken broth.

Warmed up ciabatta roll on the side.

What's on your table?

Tonight, it’s going to be Instant Pot red beans and rice. Recipe courtesy of Camellia Red Beans. I have a ham bone leftover from a Super Bowl party in my freezer, just waiting for this moment.

Recipe link

We were going to have this for Mardi Gras, but I had leftover butter chickpeas (and rice) for lunch, and decided that was enough bean/rice for the day.

Butter chickpeas recipe from NYTimes Melissa Clark

Use regular milk instead of coconut milk in this; it’s better for you and tastes better, too.

Last night, lentil-barley-mushroom soup. Tonight, hastily-put-together burritos.

Barley soup week! I made mushroom barley soup on Tuesday using prime rib bones from Christmas. I’m trying to regain some room in the freezer, and so all the soup bones are being deployed!

Steaks thawing in the fridge almost too long. Home late and not feeling real creative.

Pan seared New Yorks and cold green bean salad.

Smoked turkey rosemary pasta. I was making this dish before I even met MFR. You can find the recipe over at TNCR if you do a quick search.

Smoked turkey, pine nuts, rosemary, garlic, orange zest, olive oil and wine. Delicious.
