I never actually read Lord of the Flies, but the line “the first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers” is from Shakespeare’s Henry VI. It was a proposal for how to make it easier for a pretender to seize the throne.

It was meant as a compliment to lawyers for their role in maintaining law and order.
