I've been to pretty much all the islands except Oahu and Molokai. Lanai was my favorite.
PD, I enjoyed hiking to the green sand beach. You probably know its sand is olivine, the gemstone quality of which is peridot. Red sand beach, too. Black sand beaches. Good times.

I love Volcanoes National Park. Was there active lava in the crater? It stopped for our visit last December, and started again after we left. Pele laughs at us!

Mik, there is an amazing, amazing wild beach on the SW coast. You just keep driving and driving west on very bad dirt roads for what seems like forever. Worth the detour (it isnt near anything). Magical place.
