Trump campaign lawyer Joseph diGenova, a former U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, said during a Monday interview with conservative cable network Newsmax that Krebs should be “drawn and quartered” and “taken out at dawn and shot” for repeatedly labeling the 2020 election as secure.
Responding to the threats, Krebs, who served as the head of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency, told NBC’s “The Today Show” that he has an “exceptional team of lawyers that will win in court.”
“The way I look at it is that we’re a nation of laws, and I plan to take advantage of those laws,” said Krebs, hinting that his lawyers are “probably going to be busy.”
Krebs refused to comment on whether he’s concerned about the threats when asked by host Savannah Guthrie, who noted that this isn’t the first death threat Krebs has received, saying he doesn’t want to give certain people “the benefit of knowing how I’m reacting to this.”
The Trump campaign, White House and diGenova did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
