EV truck with unlimited range?
Heard about this one today -

Not a hybrid. It is a true EV truck, but also has a gas generator onboard that can charge the batteries while in motion.

Interesting solution to range anxiety!

I wonder what the MPG would be when using the generator to power the battery?

The Chevy Volt was something like that. Have wondered why it is no longer made.

The concept makes a lot of sense. A pure electric design with a fallback to combat range anxiety.

I’d be a buyer if the price is fair and the reliability checks out.

Stellantis has had trouble with this in the past.

It seems to me the MPG on generator is of minor concern. This is a plug in model with a generator backup. The generator would be used only when the range wasn’t adequate to complete the trip. Most trips wouldn’t require it.

Correct - it is a plug in, so can be charged for daily use.

I did go digging in an old Volt forum and while some claim 30-40 MPG using the generator, the average seemed to be the high 20's/low 30's
