I just posted this at PW but I thought I would share it here, this house has the most over the top but interesting and oddly compelling interior design I've seen in a long time. (listing link below). Usually I don't like this kind of over-the-top style, but for some reason I love this one! If I were going to buy this house, I would want them to leave all the furnishings and artwork. And crazy wallpaper. Too bad I don't live in Chicago... or have a spare 5.5 million dollars lying around... (Self-analysis: I probably love this house because I'm sick to death of seeing all these gray interiors that look like the interior design was made from the exact same playbook, say Ashely Furniture's 2022 catalog. Yuck!) Anyway, here are two photos of the piano room. There are more in the listing photos, and also a great "piano teaser" shot from a long hallway where you can just make out the piano... $5.5 million home in Chicago

Would love to drag those drapes to the middle of the street, pour gasoline on them, drop a match to start the fire. Then I want to add those chairs to the fire. Have been in a "storm the Bastille" mood for a few days.

Those drapes and upholstery are probably what make the piano sound comfortable though. My own piano room needs that kind of damping.

If you haven't, do look at the actual listing, it's really something!

If that’s your it’s well done and there’s plenty of it. Looks to be quiet and comfortable, if a bit out of date.

There's a lot to like in that property, particularly for a mid-city location. That outdoor entertaining space is partiularly impressive. Not all the furniture and finishes are my particular taste, although there are some rooms that I like quite a bit. Those things could be changed. My fundamental problem would be location. I'm more of a country boy at heart, having grown up on a rural dairy farm. I like greenery better that pavement. Big Al
