I think maybe one reason it’s not funny to me is because all of those people, “standing behind the president,” know exactly what a destructive force he is and they either won’t or can’t do anything about it.

But there are hundreds of people, in offices across the government, about whom that can be said. And I guess they’re (for the most part) spineless and selfish enough that all they can do is silently roll their eyes. Which helps no one.

A few people I give a pass (Fauci for one, he needs to be strategic bc we need him in that office). Or someone like Pelosi, who at least tried.
But the rest, no.
