Does Anger Drive Populism?
Sociologists' report on "Does Anger Drive Populism?" : https://www.nber.org/system/fi...rs/w31383/w31383.pdf

The paper accounts for populism on both sides of the ideological spectrum (e.g., the Bernie Bros. as well as the Trumpists).

There is even a county-by-county "map of anger" on page 12, and a careful separation of "anger" and "discontent" (i.e., just because someone is angry about something does not necessarily mean he is unhappy about his own life).

That’s the first polling map I’ve ever seen that doesn’t clearly show the Mason Dixon line.
