A practice recording!

ShiroKuroA practice recording!
We are on fall break here this weekend, so I checked out the Zoom from the library for the weekend. My plan is to try to get some recordings of the various pieces I'm playing right now. Here's the first one!
This is with my violin friend, we played Pachelbel's Canon in D, except that it's in C
Anyway, give a listen if you have a minute.
I am resisting the urge to point out all of my mistakes. It's just a practice recording.... (Oops — I’ll have to redo that link...)

ShiroKuroOk I fixed the link (hopefully!)

ShiroKuroOk, shameless bump just in case someone who might want to give a listen hasn’t seen this yet.

ShiroKuroOops, I forgot. I’m supposed to Doug-it and have a conversation with myself.
I’ll have to try harder.

wtgVery nice!
What does your violin friend say about the new piano? Does she love it as much as I do?

Jodi, thanks for trying anyway! I can get it load on my iPhone, just in a regular web browser, so I'm not sure what the problem could be. Hmmm....

I think she does! She has said (many times in fact) how great it sounds. I am so happy I was able to get this instrument. It's just so, so satisfying to play!!!
We have had one mini concert so far (me and violin-friend played for some mutual friends). And in about two weeks we're having another other, this time no violin friend, but in addition to my piano pieces, a friend who plays classical guitar will play. That mini-concert there will be seven people (including me and Mr. SK).

ShiroKuroJodi, thank you for listening!!

I have the Zoom through Tuesday, so I'm going to try to make one or two more recordings before I have to give it back.

ShiroKuroThanks for listening Jon!
The arrangement is by Brian Crain, he has a lot of piano/violin pieces. I like them because most of the time, both instruments share equally interesting parts. Unlike a lot of modern piano compositions, which just use violin as “atmospheric” strings, which I don’t usually like and which is boring for the violinist. Also, unlike violin-centric music, the piano part isn’t “just” an accompaniment.
Anyway, this is really fun to play. It’s even more fun when we play it faster, but then I usually fall apart at some point! It’s also more fun when I play all the right parts

(we were supposed to go up an octave in one section but b/c I didn’t, neither did she)
Oh, and in case anyone was wondering, it’s not in D major, it’s in C major (but the title on the score still says Canon in D
